Client Sometimes I just don't know what to do with myself. I try to get focused but I just can't seem to get it together.
Counselor Everything seems to be a strain for you. I am interested in hearing about all the things that might be troubling you.
Client I am so tired all the time that I just don't know which problem to focus on . . . so I just ignore it all . . . then nothing gets done. (client saying slowly looking down)
Counselor I can see that you are experiencing a lot of stress. You look and sound very troubled. What do you think is the source of your problem?
Client The hardest part of it all is that people are depending on me . . . my family, my kids, my work. I'm just letting everyone down and I know that but it just makes me more depressed to think about what all I have to do.
