The biological psychology area encompasses the subdisciplines of behavioral neuroscience and animal behavior that investigates how the brain and neurotransmitters influences behavior, thoughts, and feelings. It is interested in biological basis of behavior (Psychology, 2008). One definition is proposed by Wickens (1999), where biological psychology can be defined AS "the study of the brain and how it causes or relates to behavior.?

By definition, then, modern-day issues in the field include investigating issues such as psycho-neuroimmunology, hormone-behavior relationships, sensory processes, and the neural organization of the cerebral cortex.
