    The Evolutionary theory purports to explain diverse known facts about natural selection, reproductive fitness, mating preferences, sexual behavior, etc (Buss, l996). Evolutionary Psychology examines behavioral process in terms of their adaptive value for members of a species over the course of generations. The basic premise underlying the Evolutionary theory is that natural selection favors behaviors that advance reproductive success (i.e., transmission of genes).
