Interest groups use tactics to gain support for their causes and ideas. While some of them are small efforts and some illegal, several are legal and used by interests groups regularly. They are lobbying, grassroots campaigns, litigation, and political action committees.
All look on only one of these tactics on favorably. The grassroots campaign starts with the people and is a direct action to a problem or concern. While some organizations create grassroots campaigns to get their message out (American Cancer Society is one), most start with a small group that gains consensus and support and builds membership through their efforts to reach other people. ...
