a. Describe the properties of life on Earth. (400 words)

Life on Earth has several properties. The Earth supports many types of life and in several different areas. The are microorganisms and organisms on both land and in water. Water supports certain specific types of life and so do terrain.

Water can be divided into three categories, salty (mineral), fresh, and estuary. Estuaries are rare and contain some specific types of life. Salt water contains organisms, plants, fish and amphibians and some reptiles. There are salt water bodies that surround land and a few inside of landed boundaries. The Atlantic Ocean has a novelty area of fresh water streaming within the salt water ocean. Fresh water supports fish, reptiles, and amphibians as well as organisms. There is also plant life in fresh water. Fresh water bodies can be lakes, streams, lakes, ponds, fast moving or slow. Different species of plants, and animals, fish and organisms live in each and some in more than one type. Those that live in water have gills and breath using the water to conduct the air properties they need for survival. Some mammals also live in the seas, the whales being the most famous. Their bodies have an added hole to expel water and they come up to water surface for air.

Land supports various types of life as well. Deserts, rainforests, and frozen tundra all have life forms. Reptiles, amphibians, mammals, and birds, along with insects live on terrain. Microorganisms can also be found on land, underground, and in rainforests. Viral and bacterial organisms both are found. Deserts have fewer species than tropical rainforests, but the hot, dry, land has limited water resources, which are needed by all kinds of life for survival. Rainforests are being destroyed and with their loss many life forms are lost as well. Heat and ...
