Volume of a regular tetrahedron and octahedron

I need you to show me how to compute the volume of a regular tetrahedron of edge lenth 1. this is an Euclidean geometry class. and how to compute the volume of a regular octahedron of edge lenth 1.It does not have to be a written proof, just a step by step approach on how you got the answer, that is it. I probably would use the formula of a quadralateral such as a rectangle or square and go from there, but I don't know if that is correct. I will award more credits if necessary.
