The most important issue currently facing criminal justice is the asinine war on drugs, which accounts for most arrests, incarcerations, and prosecutions in the criminal justice system. It has been a negative issue since its inception and has resulted in overcrowding, abuse, and other forms waste in regard to monetary budgets and human lives that have been ruined by this issue. If the criminal justice system would eradicate its asinine approach to this "war", it would be beneficial to society as a whole but would result in the loss of many jobs for criminal justice professionals who currently rely upon arrests, prosecutions, and incarceration of minor drug offenders to ensure that the criminal justice system remains a juggernaut within the employment field. This issue will remain the most problematic issue within criminal justice until competent and rational minds within government prevail.© BrainMass Inc. brainmass.com December 24, 2021, 11:25 pm ad1c9bdddf>
