Law and Order SUV - depicts criminal justice system and the court system - it focuses on from the time the crime is committed until the criminal is tried in court. Law and order presents the criminal justice system in a very positive light. The detectives involved in the cases are always working to help the victims and try to create personal relationships with them to gain their trust and confidence. The reason for this is because the majority of the people they work with are women and children who have been violated (kidnapping, rape, etc). Every stage of the process is depicted in this show - from the time the crime happens, to starting to investigate the crime, finding potential offenders (some which are really innocent), the angry and angst that the victims feel, the anger and angst that the detectives feel; it shows how they sometimes get too personally involved in the case; it shows going to court and some of the hearing and then the final decision.

Lockup (appears on MSNBC) - documentary that focuses on the inmates in some of the most dangerous and max. security prisons in the US - Lockup focuses only on the inmate in prison. It depicts the officers that work in the prisons in a positive manner (where in other situations and shows police are often seen as violent.) The show interviews inmates about the rehabilitation process.
