When engaging in verbal communication for public announcements it is important to highlight that these presentations can be conducted in different ways. First the right content must be chosen to measure the effectiveness of the presentation on the public. The information must be conveyed correctly to the public because inaccurate conveyance could result in a negative response froom the public ensuing from the announcement. If the speaker does not know how to communicate clearly and concisely with the audience then this could occur. This form of verbal communication can destroy the relationship between the speaker and the audience. Therefore, those who verbally speak while conveying public announcements to the public must learn to speak with respect. The respect for others must be prevalent and the speaker must understand the effects of the content ono the receiver.

Non-verbal communication can affect public announcements as well because these forms of communication can make it difficult to discern between the intent of the words spoken by the speaker and their actions or body movements. Gestures and other movements could inhibit the intent of the content that the speaker is attempting to portray if the speaker is giving a confrontational vibe or their non-verbal movements dominate the message. Therefore, for non-verbal communication to not serve as a detriment to the effective communication between the speaker and the audience during the commission of an public announcement it is imperative that the speaker have the cognizant ability to control their non-verbal communication in a positive manner. This entails the correct use of gestures to accentuate the speakers verbal communication in a positive way that shows respect to others and does not erroneously indicate a confrontational or inaccurate meaning from the announcement.

In the courtroom the use of verbal communication represents the words used, either written or spoken by the judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, and witnesses called by both sides. Nonverbal communication in the courtroom is representative of vocal elements including how something is said, as well as what is commonly termed body language. In addition, listening is another important facet of the courtroom décor in regard to communication that typically combines verbal and nonverbal communication for the person to make an educated response to what has been heard.

In regard to a specific criminal justice practitioner, the judge, communication between the judge and litigants will involve the actual content of words spoken or written, the manner in which these words are conveyed, and listening or reading skills by both the judge and the attorneys.
