The Department of Corrections is considering adding in-home monitoring as a sentencing option for judges. They have asked you to provide some information to them to assist in making a decision. They need to know what in-home monitoring is and what type of offenders would be considered for this program. You will be speaking at their monthly meeting next week, but they have asked you to post a brief synopsis of your information on the committee's web board so that members may read it before the meeting
in-home monitoring is basically a form of alternative justice, where the inmate is sentenced to stay at home. They have to wear an electronic in-home monitoring device. There is a lot of information out there on the subject. I would advise reading some criminal justice articles on in-home monitoring.
