Need some help with early western civilization

There are several questions that I just am not sure if my answers are correct. They are:

1) The earliest Greek philosophers were concerned with questions involving:

My answer is (C).

2) Choose the sequence that places historical developments in the correct chronological order:
a. Greek "Middle Ages", Bronze Age, Age of Colonization.
b. Age of Colonization, Bronze Age, Greek "Middle Ages".
c. Bronze Age, Age of Colonization, Greek "Middle Ages".
d. Bronze Age, Greek "Middle Ages", Age of Colonization.

My answer is (D) :
Bronze Age 3100 - 1200 b.c.e
GMA - -- 750 b.c.e
Age of Colonization - 800 - 400 b.c.e

3) The two main factors which determined the character of Spartan society were the;
a. Conquest of Arcadia and the revival of trade.
b. Conquest of Messenia and the enslavement of the Helots.
c. Rigorous training of a Spartan warrior and the desire for glory.
d. None of the above.

My answer is (C).

4) Which was the most typical political unit of the Hellenistic Age?
a. World empire providing brotherhood for all.
b. The independent city state.
c. A league of poleis.
d. A kingdom sharply divided between upper and lower classes.

I cannot make up my mind between (b) or (c)...

5) Democracy in Athens is BEST represented by the:
a. The council of 500.
b. The board of ten generals.
c. The assembly of citizens.
d. The people's right to ostracize those who represented a threat to the democracy.

There was a council of 500 which replaced the old counicl of 400. The councils main responsibility was to prepare legislation for disccussion by the assymbly, but it also had important fiancial duties. The was a board of ten generals but final authority in all things rested with the assembly of all adult male Athenian citizens. So with this in mind I am stuck between answer (a) and (c). I personally feel that answer (c) is correct.
