1. Cholera is one of the major water borne disease spread by the pathogen Vibrio cholera bacteria. Its major symptoms is watery diarrhea, vomiting, and leg cramps. It is cause by drinking contaminated water in rivers and coastal waters. Its incubation period is two hours to 5 days.
Prevention- Do not drink contaminated water.
2. Giardiasis is cause by the pathogen Giardia lamblia parasite. Its symptoms include diarrhea, excess gas, stomach or abdominal cramps, and upset stomach or nausea. It is cause by swallowing recreational water contaminated with Giardia. Its incubation time is 1 to 2 weeks.
Prevention - Same as above. Do not drink contaminated water.
