    Cystic fibrosis (CF) is know for lung challenges but affects other areas of the body, as well. One organ this genetic condition affects is the pancreas. The defect affects movement of salt and water on the cellular level. The body releases mucus, which affects normal processes. The digestive system, ability to sweat and reproduction can all be affected.

    A noticeable symptom is inability to gain weight like other children. Coughing, fatigue and digestive challenges are also common.
