There are several steps you should take to make sure your organization is HIPAA compliant. The first thing you should do is make sure to familiarize yourself with the HIPAA website http://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/HIPAA-Administrative-Simplification/HIPAAGenInfo/TheHIPAALawandRelated-Information.html.

Secondly you want to make sure all employees sign a HIPAA Confidentiality Agreement (which I have attached for you)

Once you have done this you should give someone who has been properly trained in HIPAA law the task of HIPAA officer in your office. The HIPAA officer will enforce, educate and regulate compliance within your organization.
