The mergers and acquisitions in the healthcare delivery system that have occurred since President Clinton's national healthcare reform policy, have been exacerbated by the addition of Obama's national healthcare reform policy. In essence, mergers and acquisitions have become a methodology by which the healthcare industry could protect its assets and function in a method that is most profitable to those organizations, and in effect create somewhat of a monopoly within the healthcare industry.
