Do you agree or disagree with the phrase "Know Thy Partner"? One of the biggest mistakes that can occur in an alliance is to assume that your partner feels the same way you do about the alliance. Know your partners strategic goals and tell them your goals to see their reaction. Engage early and look for early warning signs, and mostly importantly have a clearly written statement to exit the alliance if it is not serving the intended value purpose.
