THIS IS WHAT I HAVE SO FAR

"Snow" written by Ann Bettie, is a story about the narrator, who remembers the most important time in her life in a country house with a lover. The narrator uses several images and symbols during the story for example the chipmunk, Queen Anne's lace, frozen ground, the yellow paint and the snow. Another thing to keep in mind is that during the winter is a symbol of hibernation. Even though this is the time of the year that everything looks dead to the narrator this is the most alive she has ever felt and is longing for that time once again.

As you look at the chipmunk symbolism, you might note that since a chipmunk stores its food, you might see it as another subtle symbol, too. Please note how it might reflect a saving or keeping of something necessary or precious within the story. Maybe their love?
