Let us discuss both the Native American experience in America and the Hispanic/Latino. Both are actually very similar.

When the Europeans came to America initially, the Native Americans were, at first, very welcoming to them. At the time, they did not realize what the Europeans intended for them which included signing treaties that were never honored, attacking their tribes for no reason, stealing their land through Manifest Destiny, and bringing them diseases (like small pox) and not providing medical treatment. Even though the Native Americans were given reservations to live on after their land was taken away, it was not their sacred land or their homes, and in the end, they had everything taken away from them by Americans.
