This source discusses immigration and U.S. border control. It provides a brief history of border control and its efforts to heighten US-Mexico border security in order to reduce the amount of illegal immigrants who enter this country. The author contends that the U.S. should reconsider associating border control with national security and maintains that an open U.S.-Mexican border would allow for greater economic development.
