    A metal bar with a Young's modulus of 70 GPa and Poisson's ratio 0.3 is subjected to a uniaxial tensile load of 60 kN, as shown in FIGURE 1.

    Assume the material is in the elastic limit under this load. Determine the longitudinal deformation, transverse deformation and the change in volume.
