One thing to consider with this is that many times higher level students have a hard time breaking things down for lower level students. For this reason, you may not always want to choose your highest student or the gifted student, but rather more of an average student. This can be a huge pick me up for students who sometimes blend in and can use the acknowledgement that this type of responsibility can provide.
