Solution Summary

I relate this demo to the geographical regions theme as a way to help students to understand the world in spatial terms by examining physical regions as a way to understand Earth's complexity. The Polar Regions have always been fascinating to people, and many have traveled to these extreme locations to learn the many secrets and mysteries of these places that are unlike any other on our planet. I think it would be interesting for students to learn about the special challenges studying the extreme Polar Regions pose. How big is the Antarctic Circle in comparison to the other continents? Where is the Area of the Antarctic Circle? Where is the actual Geographic South Pole? What is the actual Magnetic South Pole? Describe the terrain. Describe the climate. What are the regions of Antarctica? What are the elevation extremes? Describe the Arctic Region. What is the area of the Arctic Region? Where is the Geographic North Pole? Where is the Magnetic North Pole? Describe the terrain. Describe the climate. Describe the Regions of the Arctic. What are the elevation extremes? What living organisms inhabit the Polar Regions?
