I will be completing the practicum for my program soon and am looking for ways to break the ice with my students. Are you able to provide me with any easy suggestions on how I can create a bond with my students on the first day of class?

In order to be successful at your job, you need to be able to win your students over. Just because you've mastered a ton of knowledge and enjoyed spending years in school to earn your degree (like I did), doesn't mean that your students will feel the same about learning. So I came up with an innovative way to break the ice with my students that I hope you'll enjoy, and your students find entertaining. And it won't cost your school more than the cost of travel to make it to the venue if you decide to follow through. From this exercise, they will learn how to conduct research, search for scholarships, seek career guidance, gain a little information about the great writers, and how to check out resources from the library.
