    Advantage - This compares the child to their same-age peers, allowing for observation and documentation of age appropriate behaviors, skills, etc. This provides diagnostic data, numbers, rankings, and scores.

    Disadvantage - This is ineffective for measuring a student's progress, for it can only show specific data taken from the one assessment. Children with developmental delays are often underestimated in their abilities or skill levels. The environmental influences in a child's life are not taken into consideration, which includes their native-born language too.
