Well you have raised a number of good questions in this post. Let me start by saying that online education should not be treated in a generic way. In other words it is difficult to claim that all online education for Math and Sciences is a good or bad trend. There are developmental differences between a high school student taking Geometry and an adult working in a math or science field who is pursuing a Masters or PhD level degree. I believe that the older and more experienced the student is the more he/she will benefit from an online class in math and science. This is true because they have developed personal discipline and time management to a greater extent than a younger student. If the student is employed in the math or science field he/she will also have an understanding of fundamental truths about these fields that he/she can build on in this class.
