Describe an instructional design scenario in which you believe formal needs analysis would not need to be conducted.
This is a tough question because, in my opinion, need analysis are always important to conduct. The only exception that I can think of is when a course needs some modernization. For example, an established course that teaches young non-speaking English students basic grammar concepts might require occasional maintenance to keep the content current and interesting. In this scenario, we already know the needs of the students and the course, so the analysis can be skipped and handed over to designers to just make the necessary changes.
