The No Child Left Behind Act (formerly called the Elementary and Secondary Education Act) was actually introduced and implemented back in 1965. This act has allowed for the allocation of billions of federal dollars for low-income students. Title I, which is part of the No Child Left Behind Act, was created in order to equalize educational opportunities and resources for disadvantaged children.
