This observed lesson was on a new activity that dealt with gross motor skill accuracy. Students were to form three groups, line up in each group, and take turns tossing a soft foam ball at various shapes which had been previously painted upon the wall in various locations. The point was for the ball to hit the painted shapes on the wall, encouraging accuracy and control in throwing the ball. The instructor explained the process, and actually demonstrated the activity for the children. He then divided them into the three groups, showed each group their line and painted targets, and the activity began with students tossing their balls towards the red square- which was the largest and lowest shape. After all students had rotated through that activity three times, they next tossed for the green circle - smaller and higher on the wall. Three tries each. Next, the yellow ...
