What is your own definition of performance improvement, based on your experiences? Why have you selected this definition? How does it relate to HPT?

This is a very good question! As you already know, performance improvement measures the output of a particular working initiative or a procedure of some type and then modifies the initiative or procedure in order to increase efficiency or the effectiveness of the process. For example, if I were to try to play new piece of sheet music on my cello, at first I would be horrible at it! Then I would evaluate what I was doing wrong, try new things in order to improve my performance, and develop a new system in order to see more effective results. In the end, I would see great results (or so I hope)! This definition was selected because it is the best way to explain that no one develops a strategy for effective performance the first time something new is tried. It takes a process of studying what works and what does not and then using this study to find more effective and efficient ways to produce results.
