Realism means a perspective that things are known to exist independently of whether any individual is perceiving them or thinking about them. This is a philosophical position that a given thing exists independently of its thought, knowledge, or understanding. Realism is also a representation of things that are practical facing facts and rejecting mythical beings. Realism means favoring literal truth, and pragmatism. One historic example of realism is that the senses provide us with direct awareness of the external world (a).
