Solution:
1. Compliance with HTML standards
In order to check the compliance with HTML standards, I have used the HTML Validator tool. This checks whether the page is compliant with W3c Guidelines for HTML standards or not.
The Page is not XHTML1.0 Transitional compliant, which indicates that it is not compliant with HTML standards.
2. Compliance with CSS standards
In order to check if the page is CSS compliant or not, I used the CSS validator tool. It gave a total of 39 errors with a lot of warnings, the snapshot of which is attached below:

Browsers used for testing
The Web page accessibility test was carried for the following browsers:
a) Internet Explorer Version 7.0
b) Internet Explorer Version 6.0
c) Opera 9.20
d) Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.

The various tests carried out in order to check web page accessibility in Internet Explorer include:
a) Disabling Scripting:
The scripting option was disabled in Internet Explorer, by turning it off from Tools-> Internet Options Custom Disable Scripting.
After this was done and the home page was loaded,the site was fine and no browser issues.
b) Resize the text size:
A test was carried out to vary the text size by changing it from Largest to Smallest. However, this test failed as the text size was always constant irrespective of the change.
For all the different sizes of the text, the web site displayed the default size, and there was no change whatsoever.
c) Disable images:
The images option was disabled by turning off Tools→Internet Options → Advanced → ...
