Automated Checkout Program

A local department store hires you to write an automated checkout program to expedite customers in a hurry. The checkout line can only accept five items for any one purchase.

Design a program that asks for the price of each item, and then displays the subtotal of the sale, the amount of the sales tax and the total. The sales tax is 6 percent.

Please provide a pseudocode and flowchart for the program that follows the guidelines of good program design, like meaningful variable names and thoroughly commented code.

The Stationery Stop is located in Portland, Oregon. The Stationery Stop specializes in the sale of high-quality stationery, writing instruments, and also accepts custom orders for stationery and invitations. It was opened by Sydney five years ago, and Sydney currently operates the original store in Portland.
Recently, Sydney formed a partnership with a friend, Laurie, who lives in Seattle, Washington. Laurie and Sydney recently opened a second Stationery Stop location in Seattle, which Laurie manages.
Both Sydney and Laurie are interested in starting a Web for The Stationery Stop, so their existing customers can submit stationery and custom orders online. They are also hopeful that the Web site will help them reach new customers that may not live near a Stationery Stop location in the Pacific Northwest.

*What type of database management system, if any, should the Stationery Stop use to organize and manage their data and information for business purposes? Explain your answer.*
