I do not think that the worst is over for GM simply due to the fact that established players like Toyota and Honda, as well as other Japanese and Korean companies and new players from countries like China and India, are giving stiff competition to the company with their product offerings and increasing their market share at a rapid face. Further, recession in USA coupled with rising cost concerns is hurting GM's profit. Although GM is trying hard to overcome all its problems and trying to create a turnaround for itself, the worst is certainly not over for GM as it continues to faces pressures from all angles.

From a marketing standpoint, GM can do a host of things, including:

Increased marketing efforts and focus on new and emerging/fast growing markets like India with customized, innovative and more focused marketing strategies.
