6. Which is most important to your organization - mission, core values or vision?

Vision of a company is the most important to my organization. A vision statement can either apply to the whole organization or can also apply to a single department. The main reason this is important is that it provides the company an answer with 'where we plan to go?'

Although mission and values are also important, the vision articulates the dreams and hopes for the business and also acts as a reminder of what is being tried to be built. Although vision does not provide a detailed way to get to a particular position, it does provide a direction and helps in business planning more effectively.

The vision of a company allows in letting out the passion of the entrepreneur and this statement unlike the mission, is mainly meant for the owners and members of the organization. The clients and customers have nothing much to do with these statements. In order words, this statement allows the company and its members gain a fair idea of the direction they are headed to and work on better development of the mission and values of the company based on the same (Ward, 2010).
The main reason this is so important to the organization is that it has a major influence on the decision making and also has a major role in the overall development of the mission and the values of the company. Hence it is safe to say that the vision statement to some extent forms the center of all companies.

13. What is one characteristic that you believe every leader should possess?

As very well explained by Robertson, "Consequently, great leaders inspire others to greatness. Martin Luther King inspired a generation. Winston Churchill and Teddy Roosevelt inspired nations to greatness. A movement has to be greater than the leader if it hopes to survive since leaders come and go" (Robertson, 2010).

A leader is a person with a ...
