the main purpose of the paper is to examine the mission, vision, values, and goals of California Pizza Kitchen and compare these with the current strategy and performance of the firm. The divergence between the mission, vision, values and goal and the company strategy will be examined and its consequences assessed.

The mission of California Pizza Kitchen is serve hearth baked pizzas. The mission of California Pizza Kitchen is to introduce flavors and tastes from around the world on pizzas, and to satisfy an astounding demand for quality food served in an energetic upscale environment.
Now, to serve hearth baked pizzas, there is some alignment with the company processes. The kitchens are located outside and the customers can see the hearth baked pizzas being cooked. The wood burning ovens have been imported from Italy and the pizza is cooked in three minutes to sear the ingredients. California Pizza Kitchen has a well defined hierarchy and the organization has the culture of high quality and impeccable etiquette. The cooks take pride in producing designer pizzas with new toppings.
