The roots of organizational behavior in regard to individual and group management were borne from classical organization theory, which evolved in the first half of the 20th century placated upon a merger of scientific management, bureaucratic theory, and administrative theory. This theory was promulgated and theorized by Frederick Taylor in 1917who created scientific management theory based upon four principles that affected organizational behavior in organizations including finding the best and most efficient way to perform tasks, matching workers to each task based on their skills and experience, competent supervision of employees as well as using behavior theory that rewarded and punished workers based on their actions, and finally creating effective planning for the organization to ensure fluid task management.
