The FMC Corporation is a world class company, which mainly operates in manufacturing. The company is headquartered in Chicago. A large number of units of the company exist all over the world. The two most famous units of FMC are Aberdeen and Green River. Both the units execute their operations in two different industries. The Aberdeen unit mainly deals in defense industry, while the Green River unit operates in the field of chemical manufacturing. The operations of both the units collectively include metals, equipments used in military and defense field and various chemicals. In the Green River unit, a large number of employees work; while in the Aberdeen unit very limited employees are employed (FMC Corporation. 2009).
It is analyzed through the study of company's background that a large number of organizational problems exit in its organizational behavior. Due to these problems, the company has to bear low productivity of its employees. Among both the units, Green River unit has more critical problems. The three critical problems of Green River are related with leadership, work group/teams, and communication. The site manager, Kenneth Dailey wants to implement some alternatives and recommendations to solve the above mentioned problems to motivate the employees on the best level in order to boost up their level of performance and productivity.
