I need to get a start only - not have the assignment done for me.

Details: Your supervisor has asked you to lead the project for adding employees for the new plant. It is a new production facility, with a new product line and manufacturing process, UPI has designed. You anticipate that some existing employees will be interested in transferring to the new plant and you will be hiring over 50 new employees, some to backfill the transfers and others to staff the new facility. You are not responsible for the hiring process, HR will manage that, but your Director wants your team to be sure that new hires fit into the culture. You have discussed with him and you both agree it is a great time to start making some cultural changes to make the work environment more challenging and interesting to address the issues of performance and morale for a long-term solution.

To address this need you research and prepare a report to share with your Director, including the following elements:

What is the impact on of individual employees' personalities on their attitudes towards work?

How can individual values influence workforce performance, both positively and negatively?

Discuss how to use job design to create the high performance work climate that UPI wants to create in both the existing and new production facilities.

What types of goals do you suggest UPI use to foster a collaborative work environment?

TO: UPI MANAGEMENT
FROM: UPI EMPLOYEE
RE: REPORT TO UPI FOR ADDING EMPLOYEES

What is the impact of individual employees' personalities on their attitudes towards work?

An individual employee's attitude towards their work greatly influences a company. When an employee has a negative attitude it can affect an entire group. Employees who are rude, negative, and complain frequently can disrupt the workplace. When an employee complains about other employees or towards upper management, they are expressing their negative thoughts upon others. Some people are easily influenced. When this occurs, it can cause turmoil between other employees. On the other hand, if you have an employee who is always upbeat and completes their tasks on time, this can also rub off on other employees. When an employee sees another employee completing tasks on time, they too may want to complete tasks on time in order to promote themselves and hope for some bonus from upper management.

Most organizations thrive with attitudes are positive instead of negative. Therefore, UPI should ensure that they pay close attention to employee attitude. If they find that an employee has a negative attitude, they should attempt to find out what is causing the negative views, meet with the employee, and attempt to correct the attitude.

"Your attitude in the workplace can sometimes define you more than the work you actually produce if your coworkers come to see you as someone who is reliable, competent, intelligent and someone that they can rely on".
