Ella's motivation can be accounted for by a biological theory of motivation. According to different theorists, Ella's motivation is based on instinct which is drive and stimulation. Thus it can be said that Ella's motivation to obtain a promotion is a part of her nature so as to survive and her drive to be firmest. The challenges that were in front of her had made her strong and to achieve the best, she worked hard. On the whole, Ella's motivation is to meet the needs of her family and of herself. So, it can be said that Ella's case can be applied to Maslow's need hierarchy theory.

Marcelo's motivation can be accounted for by a psychosocial theory of motivation. Marcelo's motivation is based on the assumption as how other people look at him. The basic aim of Marcelo is that he wants to receive promotion so that he can fit with other workers and can feel good in front of them.
