Why does McDonald's have different prices for fast food in different geographical areas?

One of the reasons that McDonald's may have different prices for fast food in different geographical areas is due to the fact that there may be different levels of competition within different geographical areas. Differing levels of competition from other restaurant chains would have a tremendous effect on the price that McDonald's charges individuals for their food.
