According to the systems theory the output is the work exported back into the environment by the organization.
From the perspective of the open systems theory the military is an organization that exists in an environment that has the potential to affect all or part of the system. The military is the organization that receives resources from its external environment. The military as an organization has a throughput where there is conversion or transformation of resources. The output of the military is the work of the system that is exported back into the environment.
