How the research question and hypothesis are developed. Be as succinct yet detailed as possible. Also, discuss both the null and alternative hypothesis and how they support the research effort.

First of all, a researcher should start the formulation of a research question before conducting research on a study. This question should be developed from the purpose statement and it must be something that the researcher intends to find out by conducting the study. Here the question which was chosen will guide the researcher through his/her research study, and will focus on the intention of the research study. As research is conducted by the researcher he/she should be looking for the answer to the research question chosen. However, in order to develop a genuine question for researching a study the researcher must first develop a broad topic in which they can narrow down to a specific question being asked about the study.
