Blackberry is a smart-phone that supports e-mail, phone, maps, organizer, applications, games, and the internet. The advantage of using Blackberry is that it can be a leading email platform and can be customized to satisfy the demands of a business or individuals. It is a smart-phone that functions as a personal digital assistant, portable media player, internet browser, and a gaming device. It has a large variety of features that support the instant messaging feature and it supports online device message encryption. The strongest feature of Blackberry is that service is available in 91 countries worldwide on 500 mobile service operations.
There are several PDA solutions in the market but there are differences between them and the Blackberry. Research in Motion, the makers of Blackberry, develops its own operating system to be used in all their Blackberries. This enables RIM to optimize the software and hardware with each other. The other smart-phones have to use the operating systems like Window mobile, and Google Androd. Blackberry faces one disadvantage because the general operating systems have greater application availability.
One of the greatest advantages that Blackberry has is its superior e-mail delivery system where the email server would push the email to the mobile phone as soon as it arrives on the server.
