The exceptional leader that I will provide a summary on is one of the most improbable leaders in history as well as one of the most influential leaders in history. Oprah Winfrey, a Black woman born in poverty, sexually abused as a child, and raised in one of the most racist states in America (Mississippi) was able to overcome overwhelming odds to become the richest and most successful Black woman in America's history. She was able to do this despite or perhaps as a result of her very tough childhood as well as because of her visionary leadership that has transformed the industry that she has dominated for over two decades. Oprah Winfrey can be described as a transformational leader who also has servant leadership traits because of her her down-to-earth style and easygoing nature in reference to how she engages as well as how she handles business transactions and dealings.
