A: Most groups need guidance to get them started on projects and keep them on track. Sometimes they also need mediators. If the group lacks motivation or if the members of the group are more emotional or cause conflict with the other members of the group, then a leader is what is needed to organize and point them in the right direction. Other factors in the group will be confusion as to how to organize the thoughts of the group or how to progress through the project at hand.
