Introduction

Union is a group of people working together, which helps the workers to provide support and better working environment. Unions help workers to raise voice for their rights before lawmakers. There are many national and international unions in the United States of America. These unions are affiliated with AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations). AFL-CIO is the largest federation of unions in the United States. It consists of 56 national and international unions (AFL-CIO: About Us, 2008).
