Information systems management, or a management information system (MIS), is the organized approach in how a company studies the information needs of its management - at every level. It uses this information in making operational, tactical, and strategic decisions. The main objective of a MIS is to design and implement procedures, processes, and the daily routines in order to provide accturate and suitable reports that are detailed enough and are available in a timely manner. The system is continuously gathering relevant data from both inside and outside of the company. The information is stored in the database for access to those that need it.
