Organic Organization Structure
Organic organization structure is a free flowing and flexible structure that has few rules and regulations and decentralized decision making including the employees, who are performing the job. Organic structure is highly adaptive form that has leisure working environment that helps to implement the changes easily as per requirements (Jacobs, 2003). This structure has a division of labor, but the jobs are not standardized. Organizations that have organic structures frequently redefine tasks to fit the employees with environmental needs. In this structure, decision making is decentralized and communication takes place in horizontal shape rather than vertical shape.
Organizational Concepts to Improve Organization Responsiveness
Following are strategies and organizational concepts through which organizations can improve their responsiveness:
Core competency: Organizations identify their existing core competencies and acquire or build core competencies that will be important for the future. Through this, organizations can perform better as compare to competitors (Griffin & Moorhead, 2011). With the use of this strategy, companies can find new opportunities in the market through their competitive advantage over rivals and can improve their responsiveness towards stakeholders and society by providing them better services and products.
Learning organization: Learning organizations have particular systems, processes and mechanisms to enhance their capabilities for achieving sustainable objectives and competitive advantage (Evans, 2010). Through this organization concept, organizations can improve their abilities and learning to achieve objectives and responsiveness to competitors and external environment.
Strategic alliance: In this, a formal relationship is created by independent organizations to achieve mutual goals and improve organizations' responsiveness. Through the integration of resources such as financial, human, information technology and brand image of organizations, the performance, capabilities, and responsiveness towards stakeholders and society could be improved.
