These assignments often expect you to read between the lines, and defer from the information the potential outcomes. It also expects you to imagine yourself in the position and that you have actually did what the scenario says that you have done (like preliminary interviews, literature review, research the competition, etc.). For example, the notes from the steering committee below give you some indication of what type of data you plan to collect (e.g., information about pay rates, amount of pay increases e.g., production workers, compensation packages, communication resources available, types of IT, resource allocation for purchase and implementation, get the employees to buy into IT devices, etc.)
