Affirmative action is the opportunity for employers to hire minorities, and to make their environment as equal as possible. This means making sure that their place of work is in a diverse environment. Not only are whites present, but that people are represented all the way around the world from various countries. The process that a HRM department could follow in order to apply the affirmative action program is important. They can become objective in their approach, but give each minority a chance by giving them an interview, if they should meet the companies qualification. However, if they do not, then they still should at least give them an opportunity because of the Equal Opportunity Employment law that is out there.
